Smartphone brand realme has partnered with Optiemus Electronics (OEL) to manufacture its next-generation Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT) products in India. This strategic collaboration aligns with realme’s commitment to strengthen India’s manufacturing ecosystem.
Under its long-term vision, realme aims to localise the entire production of its AIoT product line in India. This includes key categories such as earphones, smartwatches, and tablets. From this year onwards, popular products like the realme Buds T200 series, Buds Wireless series, and Buds Air series will be manufactured locally.
Simultaneously, realme is intensifying its efforts to source critical components, including PCBAs, batteries, mechanics, cables, and chargers - domestically, ensuring deeper integration with India’s supply chain. In addition to catering to domestic demand, realme is also exploring the potential to export its Made-in-India AIoT products globally, aiming to position India as a hub for innovation, production, and distribution.
The partnership between realme and OEL has set a target to manufacture five million AIoT devices annually while generating over 2,000 new employment opportunities in India. Production has already commenced with the realme Buds T200 Lite, an advanced earbud that features crystal-clear calling capabilities, Dual Mic AI Deep Call Noise Cancellation, and DNN voice recognition technology.
