This marks a notable recovery in both the number of contracts awarded and the total contract value when compared to April 2025, during which 283 contracts worth Rs 31,607.23 crore were awarded.Additionally, two Indian companies bagged major overseas job work contracts, underscoring the nation%u2019s expanding presence on the global stage.BY SECTORSIn May 2025, the Real Estate sector led the industry table with 30 contracts worth Rs 6,392.73 crore, accounting for 17.64% of the total contract value awarded during the month. Notable contracts in this sector included:1. Power Mech Projects received a Rs 971.98 crore contract from Telangana Power Generation Corporation for the development of an integrated township at Yadadri Thermal Power Station (YTPS) in Veerlapalem village, Dameracherla mandal, Nalgonda district, Telangana. The scope of the project includes the construction of independent quarters (A & B Type) and multistoried residential quarters (Stilt + 10 floors) of D, E & F Types, including amenities like a hospital building, school building, club house, and commercial complexes.2. NCC secured a Rs 856.31 crore contract from the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority for developing a 1,200-apartment residential complex, Amaravati Happy Nest, near Nelapadu in Amaravati, Guntur district.3. Larsen & Toubro (L&T) bagged a Rs 786.05 crore contract from the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority for the design and construction of the civil substructure and superstructure of the Legislative Assembly Building in Amaravati Capital City. The order will be executed on a Design-Build Item Rate (Lumpsum) basis.In May 2025, the Power Distribution sector witnessed the awarding of 39 contracts, amounting to Rs 4,015.83 crore. Some of the key contracts awarded during the month included:1. Toshiba Transmission & Distribution Systems (India) secured a Rs 566.82 crore contract from Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL) for the 400 kV Transformer Package-4TR-07-BULK. The scope involves the procurement of 20 units of 500 MVA, 400/220/33kV, 3-phase transformers under bulk procurement of 765kV and 400kV class transformers and reactors of various capacities (Lot-4).2. Universal Cables was awarded a Rs 306.69 crore contract by Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation for establishing a 2x150 MVA, 220/66 kV GIS substation with a vertical configuration within the existing 66/11 kV Banashankari 3rd Stage substation in Bengaluru South Taluk, Bengaluru Urban District.
