The Odisha government is planning to expedite various infrastructure projects in the state for which the foundation stone was recently laid.
The government is planning to fast track various development projects which include a 46-km ring road, three railway overbridges (ROBs), a bus depot and a terminal in the state.
The road projects include the 13 km Raghunathpur-Ratanapur bypass road which will be undertaken by National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), a 15-km road stretch of Dakhinapur-Lathi-Haladiapadar and 17-km stretch connecting Mandiapalli-Karapalli and Phulta to be undertaken by Public Works Department, Odisha (PWD). The department has estimated Rs 330 crore will be spent towards construction of roads in the state.
On the other hand, three ROBs will be constructed at Goods-shed road, Ankuli and Gopalpur road. The cost for these ROBs will be equally shared by both, Railways and the state government.
The tenders for Gopalpur road and Good-shed road will be floated soon, whereas the Ankuli project will be put out to re-tender, as it had evoked no response.
A bus terminal and a depot will be constructed at Haladiapadara, on the outskirts of the city. The land parcel for the project has already been identified. Bus stands will also be constructed in Gopalpur and Chhatrapur districts.
