The Kudankulam-Kochi power transmission line project is likely to be completed by December 2018. The 400 kV power transmission line will draw power from the Kudankulam Nuclear Power project.
The Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) is also planning three substations along the route of the power lines. The lines will pass through Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam and Ernakulam districts.
Powergrid Corporation is executing the project and has assured the government of completing the project within six months of land acquisition.
The LDF government has also increased the compensation amount to Rs 1,020 crore from the earlier Rs 341 crore following discussions with Powergrid Corporation.
