Infrastructure company Tata Projects and Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) have completed the underground tunnel boring project from Lucknow Secretariat to near Sahu Cinema at Hazratganj.
Both the companies have achieved completion of the 812 mtr tunnel within a period of five months (excluding one and half months of waiting period to confirm breakthrough dates) of its commencement under the engineering, procurement, construction (EPC) project.
The tunnel lies below the city centre areas of Sachivalaya (the Secretariat area) & Hazratganj (Heritage Building area).
TATA Projects will now install Gomti to construct another tunnel between the Sachivalaya and Hussainganj Metro Station as the next part of the construction plan.
Tata Projects is executing the designing and construction project of the entire underground track of 3.67 km Charbagh Metro Station to KD Singh Babu Stadium Metro Station. The project is estimated to cost Rs 1,190 crore.
The company will construct three underground metro stations at Hussain Ganj, Sachivalaya and Hazratganj which includes architectural finishes, electrical and mechanical system (E&M), environment control system (ECS), etc. on the North-South Corridor of Lucknow MRTS, Phase-1 A project.
