Oil & Natural Gas Corporation
(ONGC) has decided to replace the 25-year old Mumbai-Uran oil and
gas feeder pipeline. The 100-km pipeline network, laid by Brown
& Root International Ltd in 1978, brings in nearly 90 per
cent of the total oil and gas production from the Mumbai High
fields, and contributes to almost 70 per cent of ONGC's total
revenue.
ONGC expects to award the contract
for this Rs.3,000 crore project by January 2004 and work is
expected to be completed by May 2005.
