Bharat Heavy Electricals has bagged an order
worth Rs.1,464 crore from Bhilai Electric Co Pvt Ltd for setting up two
thermal units of 250 MW each for the Bhilai thermal power project in
Chhattisgarh.
BECPL is a joint venture between two public
sector units, Steel Authority of India and National Thermal Power Corporation.
BHEL's scope of work involves design,
manufacture, supply and commissioning of the main plant including civil work on
turnkey basis.
The turbines and generators required for the
project would be built at BHEL's Hardwar and Trichy plants while the controls
and instrumentation would be supplied by the BHEL's electronics division in
Bangalore.
