Larsen & Toubro has won a Rs.278 crore order
from National Highways Authority of India for upgrading and four-laning a 70-km
stretch on NH-76 in Rajasthan.
The project forms part of the EW-NS Corridor
Project (also known as NHDP-Phase II). L&T's ECC division will complete the
road project in 30 months.
L&T's ECC division has so far bagged orders
worth Rs.2,362 crore for 11 sections covering 416 km on the Golden Quadrilateral
project. While nine sections have been constructed, two are in an advanced stage
of completion.
Very recently, the L&T completed the
construction of the 40 km long section of India's first six-lane BOT toll road
project between Jaipur and Kishangarh on NH-8. The prestigious road project was
completed six months ahead of schedule and dedicated to the nation by the Prime
Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, on May 23, 2005.
