German engineering firm, Linde AG, has bagged a
$175 million (approx. Rs.750 crore) order from Reliance Industries for supplying
five hydrogen units for the Jamnagar petroleum refinery.
The first of the five units will be commissioned
in the second quarter of 2007. Along with two hydrogen units already in
operation, Reliance Industries would be the world's largest hydrogen producer
with capacity of 6 lakh cubic metres per day.
Linde will perform the basic engineering, supply
of equipment and material, assistance for erection and supervision of
commissioning including training of Reliance Industries' personnel. Linde
Process Technologies India Pvt Ltd, the Indian arm of Linde AG, will play a
major role in the execution of this project.
