Six consortia has submitted their EoIs for the
proposed Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS) in Hyderabad, estimated to cost over Rs.6,000
crores.
Reputed international and national firms were
asked to form into consortia of up to four firms each for these consultants and
six consortia from Canada, China, Japan and Europe besides Indian firms has
submitted their EoIs. Indian firms includes:
- Span
Consultants Private Ltd and Semaly
- Lea
International, Lea International South Asia and Pricewaterhouse Coopers
- Rites
Limited, Systra and IL&FS
- Parsons
Brickerhoff International, Wilbur Smith Associates and Crisil
Infrastructures
- Feedback
Ventures, SSDI, Sowil Limited and J. Sagar Associates
- Pacific Consultation International, Consulting
Engineering Services India Private Limited, Capital Fortunes Limited and
Electrowatt Infra Limited.
The
Phase I of the project covers a distance of 59 km which includes
- Miyapur to Chaitanyapuri (25 km)
- Tarnaka to Punjagutta to Hi-Tec City (20 km)
- Secunderabad to Falaknuma (13 km)
The
consultants will help the government in the bid process management, negotiations
and the financial closure as per the project reports prepared by the
construction firms shortlisted for the proposed project.
Technical consultants selection and finalising
developers will be completed by January 2006. The developers will then conduct
their own routes and traffic studies plus the revenue model within four months
time and the project construction is likely to commence by June 2006.
