Gail (India) has placed orders worth Rs.485 crore
for main pipelines for its Dahej-Uran and Vijaipur-Kota pipeline projects. The
order for the DUPL project is for Rs.405 crore, while that of the VKPL project
is Rs.80 crore.
Supplies for both the projects would begin in
April 2006. The DUPL project is scheduled to complete by February 2007, while
the VKPL project is likely to commission by December 2006.
Gail has already placed orders for critical items
like valves, joints, elbows and fittings for the two projects.
PSL, Man Industries bag order: In independent
developments, PSL and Man Industries informed the bagging of orders from Gail
(India) concerning the two pipeline projects.
PSL stated that it bagged an order valued at Rs.240 crore for supply and coating of
pipelines for the Dahej Uran Pipeline project. The order would be executed by
August 2006.
PSL would supply 30" API 5lx70 grade pipes of 197
km with three layers of internal and external coating. The order represents over
half of the total pipe order for DUPL. The pipes would cost Rs.202 crore while
the coating process would involve Rs.38 crore. The order, is it learnt, is the largest received
by any spiral pipe manufacturer from Gail (India).
Man Industries stated that it won orders worth
Rs.163 crore from Gail (India) for the supply of pipelines. It is not clear, in
this case, to which pipeline (DUPL or VKPL), the order pertains to.
