Aker Kvaerner of Norway has bagged a
sub-sea equipment contract worth Rs.1,800 crore ($400 million) from Reliance
Industries for providing an 18 well sub-sea system for the exploration and
production in deepwater gas block in the Krishna Godavari basin (KG-D6).
Kvaerner's sub-sea division will
supply the complete production system including trees, manifolds, steel tube
umbilicals and power cables, controls system and associated connections to tie
the subsea production system to an onshore gas terminal. The subsea production
system will be installed in water depths from 700-1,700m.
The first deliveries of equipment are
scheduled by July 2007.
