National Hydroelectric Power
Corporation has taken up rural electrification projects in 1,100 villages spread
over 27 districts in West Bengal, Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, Orissa and
Chhattisgarh.
These projects will entail an
investment of Rs.1,500 crore. The Central Government will provide 90 per cent
funds as grant and the balance 10 per cent as loan.
