Larsen
& Toubro and Toyo Engineering consortium bagged an order worth Rs.2,600
crore from Indian Oil Corpn. for project management, engineering, procurement,
construction of naphtha cracker and associated units at Panipat Petrochemical
complex in Haryana.
Toyo
will undertake work for the cracker plant section on EPC basis and overall
project management while L&T will undertake work for cracker heaters and
associated units, namely C4 hydrogeneration, pyrolysis gasoline hydrogeneration
and benzene extraction units on EPC basis.
IOCL
will process naphtha from its Panipat, Mathura and Gujarat refineries to produce
ethylene, propylene and benzene at the proposed naphtha cracker.
