Leighton Asia (Southern), a subsidiary
of Australian Construction and contract mining group Leighton Holdings bagged a
$40 million contract from Kochi Refineries for the installation of a crude oil
pipeline at Cochin.
The scope of work involves
installation of the offshore section of the Kochi refinery pipeline and single
point mooring (SPM) at the end of the line. The 20 kilometres long and 48 inches
in diameter pipeline will be used to import crude oil to the oil refinery at
Cochin.
Work on the project is scheduled for
completion by April 2007.
