Alstom Projects (India) (APIL), has
bagged a Rs.44 crore contract for the supply and erection of hydro-mechanical
equipment for Nam Ngum 2 Hydropower project in Lao.
The Nam Ngum project, funded by a
number of commercial banks led by Krung Thai Bank of Thailand, is located on Nam
Ngum River in the southeastern part of Lao.
Elektrowatt-Ekono is the engineer and Karnchang,
a subsidiary of Thailand's Ch Karnchang Public Co is the turnkey contractor for
the project. Work on the project is scheduled for completion within 43 months.
This is the second export order won by
APIL for hydro mechanical equipment, the first being Gurara project in Nigeria.
