Bhilwara Energy on 7 November 2006 won
three hydropower projects in Arunachal Pradesh to be developed on BOOT basis.
The projects, with aggregate capacity of 290 MW, will be set up along Nyamjung
Chuu river in Tawang district of the state. Work is likely to begin by mid-2008
and the overall investment is estimated to be Rs.1,700 crore.
As per the MoU signed with the state
government, BEL would develop the project on BOOT basis for a period of 40
years. BEL will supply 12 per cent of the power generated to the Arunachal
Pradesh government free of cost. The state government has provided land on a
40-year lease. BEL will make its own arrangements for evacuation and
distribution of power from the three projects.
The detailed project report will be
submitted to the Arunachal Pradesh government over the next 12-15 months. The
three projects will annually generate 1,300 million kwh at 50 per cent PLF.
The LNJ Bhilwara Group in late October
2006 announced the formation of Bhilwara Energy Ltd that will be the principal

has two companies Malana Hydro Power Ltd and AD Hydro Power Ltd in the power
