Singapore's Changi airport has shown
keen interest in running the Maharashtra Airport Development Co.'s Nagpur
airport as part of Multimodel Hub Airport at Nagpur (MIHAN).
MADC has asked the airport to
participate in the tendering process. MIHAN envisages to create an international
air passenger and cargo hub at Nagpur. A 2,000 ha SEZ has already been
cleared under the project and a lot of leading IT companies including Satyam and
L&T Infocity have purchased lands to set up their units there.
Singapore-based Ascendes has also sought 60 acres of land for setting up its
Rs.800 crore IT park in MIHAN.
