On 3 May 2007, Honda Siel Cars India (HSCIL)
signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Rajasthan government for
setting up of a car manufacturing project at at Khuskhera Industrial Area in
Alwar.
The project to be spread over 450
acres of land, will entail an initial investment of about Rs.1,000 crore. Out the
total 450 acres of land, the company will utilised 350 acres for setting up car
plant while 100 acres will be utilised for research and development (R&D)
functions.
HSCI proposes to initially manufacture around
50,000 cars per annum and expects to raise it to 1,00,000 per annum.
