B. Overseas Contracts

21 Feb 08

• Diamond Cables bagged an order worth $11 million (approx Rs.44 crore) for supply of 867 large power transformers for Middle East and 930 transformers for export to Africa. These orders will be implemented by the company's subsidiaries Apex Electricals and Western Transformers and are to be executed within six months.

• Larsen and Toubro secured an order worth $431million (approx Rs.1,724 crore) from Kuwait National Petroleum Co. for upgradation of two Kuwait's three refineries for environment-friendly products.

• Bharat Heavy Electricals  bagged an order worth Rs.650 crore ($165 million) from General Electricity Company of Libiya for setting up a 300 MW gas turbine based power plant in Libya, related to the expansion of the 600 MW Western Mountain Power Project.

14 Feb 08

• Larsen & Toubro secured an order worth Rs.311 crore ($78.8 million) from the Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation (KAHRAMAA) for the design, supply, installation and commissioning of five 66/11 kV substations at Qatar, as a part of the Kahramaa Phase VIII.  (more news)
