Indian Hotels Co (IHCL), Tata group
company plans to add 16 new hotels with an addition of 2,080 rooms by 2009. Till
March 2008, IHCL had 86 hotels with 10,300 rooms capacity.
IHCL is now in the process of setting
up a new residency hotel at Bangalore and adding 142 rooms at Taj Lands End in
Mumbai by July 2008. The company also plans new hotels at Varanasi, Chennai and
Vijayawada with two residential hotels slated for Trivandrum and Panjim.
