Hindustan Construction Corporation (HCC) which is developing Lavasa, a hill
station in the Sahyadri ranges near Pune, plans to set up 18 hotels with 4,000
rooms.
Currently, five hotels are being developed, which are to be operated by Accor
and Hilton chain and are scheduled for opening in 2010. HCC is expected to have
1,000 hotel rooms at Lavasa by early-2010. The company will set up five star
deluxe hotels for the rich to dormitory hotels for low budget tourists along
with quarters for drivers.
The first hotel at Lavasa, a 62-room hotel called Fortune Select Dasve,
managed by ITC's Fortune brand has already started functioning.
