The Leela Hotels, Palaces & Resorts Group has chalked out an investment plan
of Rs 2,500 crore (approx $500 million) for opening five new hotels across India
by 2012.
The group is likely to develop a hotel each in Delhi and Chennai by 2010 and
in Hyderabad, Pune and Agra by 2012 with a cumulative capacity of 1,000 rooms.
Presently, the group has 1,600 rooms, including the soon to be opened Udaipur
hotel. The company is likely to inaugurate its Udaipur hotel in April 2009.
