Sembawang Engineers and Constructors, a subsidiary of Punj Lloyd, has secured
a Rs 1,263 crore ($378 million) contract from Singapore Land Transport
Authority.
The contract is for 16.6 km downtown line 2 that will run from Bugis area to
Bukit Panjang for Botanic Gardens and Stevens metro stations in Singapore. The
scope of work includes design and construction of the two stations and a one-km
twin-bored tunnel linking both stations. Work is expected to commence in third
quarter of 2009 and will be completed by 2015.
