The Andhra Pradesh Government is likely to scrutinise Maytas Infra-led
consortium's Rs 1,600 crore Machilipatnam port project due to delay in achieving
financial closure.
The Maytas consortium was to achieve the financial closure by 21 April 2009
for the proposed project which it had bagged in 2008. Work on the project is yet
to begin.
Earlier, the company's Rs 12,200 crore Hyderabad Metro Rail contract has been
cancelled for failing to achieve financial closure in spite of extension of
deadline.
