Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has directed officials to complete Phase-1 construction works of the Machilipatnam, Ramayapatnam, Mulapeta, and Kakinada Gateway ports by December 2025. Speaking at a high-level review meeting in Amaravati on 03 June, 2025, CM Naidu emphasised that ports and fishing harbours are vital economic drivers and should be operationalized swiftly. He also instructed the timely completion of Phase-1 works for the Juvvaladinne, Nizampatnam, Machilipatnam, and Uppada fishing harbours within the same deadline.
The progress of key port projects was reviewed: Machilipatnam Port is 43 percent complete and expected to be finished by November 2025, Ramayapatnam Port has reached 64 percent completion, while Mulapeta and Kakinada Gateway Ports are at 46 percent and 29 percent, respectively.
Additionally, the Chief Minister announced plans to establish a logistics corporation to enhance supply chain infrastructure. He also revealed that the government will initiate Phase-1 construction of new airports in Kuppam, Dagadarthi, Amaravati, and Srikakulam. Expansion of state roads will be undertaken based on traffic needs and integrated with national highways under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model to improve connectivity across the State.
