Desun Hospital & Heart Institute has earmarked Rs 250 crore to expand the
capacity of its existing unit in Kolkata and setting up of a new hospital at
Siliguri in West Bengal.
The company plans to expand the bed capacity of its existing hospital, which
houses 303 beds, to 750 by 2012.
Besides, it is likely to set up a 300-bed hospital in Siliguri by 2013 at an
investment of Rs 100 crore. It has already acquired land for the Siliguri
hospital.
This apart, the Desun had formed a JV with Ashoke Nagar Municipality in North
24 Parganas district to run a Cardiac Emergency Centre. The centre will start
functioning from 31 March 2010.
