Biotor Industries, a manufacturer and exporter of castor derivatives,
proposes to set up a bio-refinery for castor oil and derivatives in Gujarat.
Biotor has identified Vilayat near Bharuch for the proposed greenfield
project. The company is likely to invest Rs 2,000 crore for the project, which
will use castor and castor oil as main raw materials. The company intends to
partly fund the project by initial public offer.
The new refinery is to consist of bio-fertiliser producing unit, biogas
plant, seed crushing and sebacic acid unit as well as waste treatment plant.
As per sources, the company has received environment clearance from the
Gujarat Government and the work on the project is likely to start by end-2010.
