The Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) has shortlisted 18 firms
for carrying out techno-feasibility study for the proposed 10 mld sea water
desalination plant in Mumbai.
They are AcquaPro Worldwide; Aquatech Systems (Asia); Ayesa; CH2MHILL;
Dorr-Oliver, Hindustan Dorr-Oliver; Doshion Veolia Water Solutions; Egis India;
Fitchner Consulting Engineers (India); Gherzi Eastern; Global Environment
Solutions; HATCH; KPMG Advisory Services; NJS Consultants Company; Prointec;
SREI;TCE Consultancy Engineers; Utico and Worley Parsons Resources & Energy.
The selected consultant’s scope of work will include data collection, site
selection for demo plant, development of financial framework, preliminary design
and contract document, recommendations for management of plant through BOT, BOOT
etc.
Currently, the BMC is in the process of scouting land at Bombay Port Trust,
Colaba and Versova.
