De Core Nanosemiconductors, a subsidiary of De Core Science & Technologies,
proposes to manufacture Blu-ray lasers from its upcoming nano semiconductor chip
plant for lighting systems at GIDC Electronic SEZ in Gandhinagar (Gujarat) at a
later stage.
Entailing a cost of Rs 900 crore the plant is likely to be commissioned in
2011. It is expected to have a capacity of 400 million small chips, to be used
mostly for light-emitting diode (LED) luminaries.
The company also has a LED lamps plant at Noida in Uttar Pradesh which is to
go on-stream by May 2010. The plant costing Rs 200 crore will have a capacity of
70 lakh LED lamps.
