Bangalore based Narayana Hrudayalaya on 7 April 2010 signed an agreement with the Cayman Island Government to build a health city under a JV at Grand Cayman.
The agreement envisages construction of a 200-bed hospital in the Phase I for
heart, cancer, ortho and gastro intestinal surgery.
Narayana Hrudayalaya plans to set up the multi-superspeciality hospital with
2,000 beds in four phases over a period of two years. Part of the health city is
likely to have a large facility of assisted living for elderly Americans.
Also, Cayman Islands has allowed Narayana Hrudayalaya to set up a world class
medical university to train doctors, nurses and paramedical students from
America, Canada, South America and Caribbean region.
