1. Boolean Searches :

i. AND - Shows results where both terms on either side of the 'AND' operator are present. 'AND' must be in upper case. For example search term - delhi AND metro result - It will return records in which 'delhi' as well as 'metro' both are present.

ii. OR - Shows results where either term (or both terms) is present. 'OR' must be in upper case. For example search term - delhi OR metro result - It will return records in which either 'delhi' or 'metro' or both are present

2. Proximity Searches

A proximity search looks for terms that are within a specific distance from one another. For example, search term - 'delhi metro'~10 result - It will search for records where 'delhi' and 'metro' are found within 10 words of each other

3. Phrase searches

You can search phrases using double quotes. for e.g. 'delhi metro' result - It will return records where 'delhi metro' phrase is found.

Bid submission date extended for Hyderabad Metro

The Andhra Pradesh Government has reportedly extended the last date for submission of financial bids to 7 June 2010 for Hyderabad metro rail project as none of the short listed bidders have submitted their financial bids so far. The earlier date for submission was 21 April 2010.

The project estimated to cost Rs 12,123 crore is likely to cover about 71 km cutting through several points in Hyderabad.

The state government had called for bids and Transstroy-OJSC Transstroy (Russia)-CR18G (China)-BEML conglomerate; Reliance Infra-Reliance Infocomm (ADAG) consortium; Lanco Infra-OHL Concesiones (Spain) consortium; Essar-Leighton (Australia)-Gayatri-VNR consortium; GMR Infra, GVK-Samsung (South Korea) consortium, Soma-Strabag AG (Austria) consortium and L&T were short listed for taking the project forward.

Addendum:

The Andhra Pradesh Government has yet again extended the last date for submission of financial bids for Hyderabad metro rail project, by five weeks from  7 June 2010 to 14 July 2010.
