Petronet
India Ltd (PIL)’s 364-km Mangalore-Hasan-Bangalore pipeline is expected to
begin trial runs on 30 June 2003. The Rs.700 crore pipeline has seen a time
overrun of more than a year. The pipeline, with a capacity of 8.5 million
tonnes will transport petroleum products from MRPL’s refinery – petrol, diesel,
naphtha, kerosene and aviation turbine fuel -- to markets in Andhra Pradesh and
Karnataka.
This project is likely to be the last
project executed by Petronet India Ltd, following the possibility of the
company being wound up.
