Greenko Group, a
Hyderabad based company, has decided to invest $300 million (approx Rs.1,470
crore) for setting up 15 clean energy projects at different locations in India
by 2012.
These projects will be
set up in Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. In Himachal Pradesh,
Greenco will develop 5 hydel power projects while in the two southern states,
Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka the company will set up five each biomass based
power projects. Together these 15 projects will have generation capacity of 300
MW.
These projects will be
funded through a debt equity ratio of 70:30. Currently, the company has
initiated discussions with financial institutions to raise funds to implement
the proposed projects.
