As many as 86 projects with a cumulative investment of Rs 31,429 crore, received through expressions of interest (EOIs) at the Invest Kerala Global Summit (IKGS) held in Kochi last February, have commenced construction, Kerala’s Minister for Industries, Law, and Coir, P Rajeeve announced. “As many as 424 investment projects worth Rs 1,77,732 crore were received at IKGS. Of these, over 20% have already started construction,” he stated.
These projects are expected to create approximately 40,439 jobs. Among the 424 proposed projects, 268 have secured land, while 156 are awaiting land allotment. Projects worth Rs 1,500 crore are scheduled to begin in July, and those worth Rs 1,437 crore in August.
Key July projects include BlueStar Realtors’ Rs 600 crore investment in Kalamassery, Canyo Health’s Rs 400 crore project in Palakkad, and Kaynes Technology India’s Rs 500 crore unit in Perumbavoor. These will together generate 3,800 jobs. In August, projects totaling Rs 1,437 crore will commence, including Green Worms Waste Management (Rs 117 crore), Renai Medicity (Rs 500 crore), and Bharat Biotech’s new facility. Adani Logistics will also launch a Rs 600 crore logistics park in Kalamassery.
