A 300-bed trauma centre will come up at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh. This will help address the growing number of patients in the region.
AIIMS Bilaspur Registrar Rakesh Kumar confirmed that the Central government has approved the expansion of medical services at the facility. The trauma centre will be constructed here as part of these efforts, and necessary formalities are underway.
Currently, the emergency ward at AIIMS Bilaspur has 55 beds, and around 70 patients from the region are referred to the facility daily. The new trauma centre aims to improve emergency care access and reduce the need for patient transfers.
