ACME Group has forayed into renewable energy equipment manufacturing with the commissioning of its 1.2 GW solar PV module facility in Jaipur. The company is also considering manufacturing solar cells in Rajasthan in the coming years.
Although trial production began in January, commercial operations commenced after a stabilization period and following the inclusion of its subsidiary, MKU Holdings in the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. The investment in the facility stands at Rs 230 crore, with plans to expand capacity further.
The manufacturing business will operate under MKU Holdings, with a revenue target of Rs 10,000 crore by 2030. The ALMM inclusion enables ACME to participate in government-backed projects and private initiatives requiring certified modules, strengthening its role in India’s renewable energy sector.
“Our strategic entry into the renewable equipment manufacturing business aligns seamlessly with the Make in India initiative. It marks a significant milestone in our journey to contribute meaningfully to India’s clean energy transition," Chairman Manoj K Upadhyay said.
