Sanjeev Arora, the Cabinet Minister for Industries & Commerce, Investment Promotion, and Power, announced that AISRM Multimetal, part of the Arora Iron Group will establish a steel manufacturing facility on the Doraha–Khanna Road in Ludhiana district, Punjab.
The plant at Village Jaspallon will span 46 acres and is expected to create employment for over 920 people. The first phase of the project is set to become operational by September 2027, and the facility will have an installed capacity of 5.40 lakh tonne per annum (TPA), producing round bars, wire rods, coils, and flats using scrap and ferro alloys as raw materials. Operations will run on a triple-shift basis for 350 days annually, and technologies used will include induction furnaces, electric arc furnace (EAF), ladle refining furnace (LRF), vacuum degassing, argon oxygen decarburization (AOD), continuous casting machines, and rolling mills. These will ensure the production of high-quality alloy and special steel products for industrial applications.
The project will boost Punjab’s alloy and special steel sector, particularly benefiting the automobile and automotive components industry, where demand for high-grade steel is increasing. It will also strengthen Ludhiana's position as a major industrial and metallurgical hub in North India.
