Western Odisha has now become a core engine of growth, no longer just a "next frontier," said Odisha's Chief Minister, Mohan Charan Majhi, during the 25th edition of Enterprise Odisha 2026 in Rourkela.
Addressing industrialists from Raipur, Ranchi, and Rourkela, the Chief Minister highlighted the region's growing industrial significance. During the event, projects worth Rs 8,884 crore were inaugurated and grounded, creating 6,832 new work opportunities. An additional Rs 52,026 crore in investment intent was secured, promising 20,427 more employment opportunities. The event saw the inauguration of 11 industrial projects valued at Rs 5,708 crore, generating 4,183 work roles, while nine other projects worth Rs 3,176 crore were grounded, providing 2,649 employment opportunities.
The gathering also featured key figures such as Minister Sampad Chandra Swain, IAS officer Hemant Sharma, and industrial leaders from companies like Tata Steel, JSW, Vedanta, and SAIL. More than 500 participants attended, marking a significant step in the industrial development of Western Odisha.
