AMPIN Energy Transition has signed a long-term renewable power purchase agreement (PPA) with Air Liquide India to supply 6.6 MW of renewable energy from its wind-solar hybrid project.
The power will be provided to Air Liquide's facility in Jhagadia, Gujarat. This project is expected to meet 60 percent of the facility's electricity needs using renewable sources, significantly reducing its carbon footprint by offsetting approx. 22,000 tonne of CO2 emissions annually. Benoit Renard, General Manager of Air Liquide India, emphasised that the PPA is a crucial part of their strategy to decarbonise their assets.
The partnership marks a significant step towards sustainable industrial operations in India. “This collaboration not only contributes to Air Liquide's decarbonisation goals but also reflects our shared visioclean energy across India's industrial sector,'' said Pinaki Bhattacharyya, Founder, MD and CEO, AMPIN Energy Transition.
