Land acquisition will be undertaken in four villages of Vajrapukotturu mandal and two villages of Santhabommili mandal. Accordingly, around 2500 acre of land will be acquired in Marripadu village of Santhabommili mandal; 300 acre has to be acquired from Bhavanapadu village and around 500 acre in Marripadu village.
The process for finalising the developer of the Bhavanapadu port will be finalised by the end of December or early January next year. In all, 12 private firms including the Adani Group, Vedanta, Gangavaram Port and Krishnapatnam Port have expressed interest in the project. The port is expected to handle around 50-60 million tonne of cargo.
