Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) has partnered with Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL) to establish India’s first ship-to-ship liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunkering facility at Vizhinjam International Seaport, Kerala.
This facility, set to serve vessels in the East-West global shipping corridor, is a major step toward India’s maritime energy transition. The project will enable shipping lines to reduce emissions by offering an alternative to conventional marine fuels. The partnership highlights APSEZ’s commitment to sustainable, green ports and BPCL’s expansion into clean energy infrastructure.
The initiative supports India’s path to net-zero emissions, setting a global benchmark in environmentally responsible shipping.
