The Senegalese regulatory authority of telecommunications and posts, L’Autorite de Regulation des Telecommunications et des Postes (ARTP), through Abdoul Ly, its Director-General, has announced plans to develop USD 1.7 million Frequency Control Centre at Kolda in Senegal.
The Frequency Control Centre will facilitate the work of the telecoms regulator in terms of control and materialise its desire to decentralise its activities related to telecommunications services such as spectrum control, as well as better management of problems related to the quality of service (QoS) and to the collection of royalties.
The future Frequency Control Centre in Kolda will also be a vector of jobs for the young people in the Fouladou area.
Upon completion, the centre will be the second regional centre built by ARTP in Senegal. Located in Matam, the first frequency control centre was inaugurated in June 2020.
