The Adani Group has emerged as the lowest bidder for both packages of Bengaluru's 16.75-km tunnel road project, which will connect Hebbal and Silk Board junction.
The project, part of a build-operate-transfer model, will receive 40 percent funding from the government, with the remainder coming from private investors. However, the Adani group's bid of Rs 22,267 crore exceeds the government's estimated cost by approx. 24 percent for the first package and 28 percent for the second. This has raised concerns, as the bids are significantly higher than the initial government estimate of Rs 17,698 crore.
Other contenders, such as Vishwa Samudra Engineering Ltd, also submitted bids higher than the government’s estimates.
