The Delhi Government's Expenditure Finance Committee (EFC) has approved three major infrastructure projects aimed at improving road traffic in the city.
The projects, which include the Modi Mill Flyover, Savitri Cinema Flyover, and the Mehrauli-Badarpur Road Storm Water Drain, are expected to cost over Rs 759 crore. The flyover projects will ensure signal-free movement and enhance road capacity, easing traffic congestion around key junctions like Captain Gaur Marg and Outer Ring Road. The Modi Mill flyover, once complete, will provide smoother access to Greater Kailash, Chirag Delhi, and Nehru Place. Additionally, the Savitri flyover will be expanded to accommodate more traffic. The stormwater drain project, costing Rs 387.84 crore, will address waterlogging and drainage issues, improving the MB Road stretch.
PWD Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma emphasised that these long-pending projects are finally moving towards execution, which will significantly benefit thousands of daily commuters. "We are firmly moving towards execution," he said.
