Adani Power has received another letter of award (LoA) from MP Power Management Company (MPPMCL) for supplying 800 MW of electricity from a new ultra-supercritical thermal power project to be set up in Anuppur district, Madhya Pradesh.
This project, to be developed under the design, build, finance, own, and operate (DBFOO) model, will utilise coal sourced through the SHAKTI Policy, with fuel linkage arranged by the utility. The award comes under the greenshoe option expanding Adani Power’s supply commitment in the state. Earlier, on 29 August, 2025, the company had secured an LoA for 800 MW, taking the total contracted capacity with MPPMCL to 1,600 MW.
The contract underscores the state’s long-term electricity procurement strategy to strengthen energy security and meet growing industrial and domestic demand. Execution is scheduled within 60 months from the appointed date, aligning with Madhya Pradesh’s push to enhance power availability while leveraging efficient, low-emission technologies such as ultra-supercritical plants.
