The newly-built port at Dahej in Gujarat has started operations from 30
August 2010.
The first phase of the terminal having a capacity of 20 million tonne has commenced operations with the arrival of the first commercial vessel M
V Sesa Star Cosmos. It has entailed a cost of Rs 600 crore.
The terminal is being set up by a JV company - Adani Petronet (Dahej) Port -
at a cost of Rs 1,150 crore. Adani Petronet (Dahej) Port is a JV company of
Mundra Port and Special Economic Zone and Petronet LNG, where Petronet LNG holds
24 per cent stake. The company plans to use the port for commercial as well as
captive purposes.
