Work on Adhunik Group's Phase I of 1.1 million tpa integrated steel unit at
Raghunathpur in Purulia district of West Bengal is expected to commence by
September 2009, as told to ProjectsToday.
The plant to be implemented in two phases will include 1 million tpa cement
unit and 1,000 MW captive based power unit.
In Phase I, the company will set up a 0.5 million tpa cement unit along with
a captive power plant. The capacity break-up of captive power plant is 1x300 MW,
2x75 MW and 3x25 MW. Phase II of the project is likely to include a 0.6 million
tpa cement unit and 1 million tpa cement grinding facility. Work on this phase
will commence on completion of Phase I.
Around 2,300 acre has been acquired for the project. The company has received
MoEF clearance on 15 May 2009 and has initiated discussions with suppliers of
various equipments as well.
