The Goa government has given administrative approval to award the tender for construction of a super specialty block at Goa Medical College (GMC) and Hospital to the lowest bidder, Rama Civil India Construction.
The lowest bidder, Rama Civil India Construction has quoted an amount of Rs 249 crore for the project.
The project is to be constructed under the Prime Minister Swashtya Seva Yojna (PMSSY)-III. The super specialty block will spread over 5,000 sq mtr of land.
All existing super specialties operating in the government-run hospital will be moved to the new block.
The central government has also proposed establishment of a regional cancer centre at GMC and Hospital.
