With the issuance of three work orders worth Rs 177 crore, the much delayed Rs 2,826 crore Ahmednagar-Beed-Parli Vaijnath project has been set in motion. The project aims to connect Marathwada and Western Maharashtra with a 250 km railway corridor. The work order issued is for the laying of earthwork and other preliminary construction works.
This is one of the eight projects in the state in which the railways and the state government will be sharing costs. As far as this project is concerned, the state government has already sanctioned its share of Rs.1,413 crore.
